Our adult school offers a wide range of courses catering to your personal, academic and professional needs. Our programmes are designed to develop your knowledge, skills and performance in English and we provide a structured framework to ensure that you learn quickly and effectively.

Our curriculum is designed to develop an accurate and fluent use of the language in a learning environment conducive to high achievement. There is a particular emphasis on spoken performance skills as well as team building tasks to develop useful life skills.

Study English in the heart of Edinburgh

The school stands proudly on the historic Royal Mile* – the most famous street in Scotland. Edinburgh School of English is housed in a magnificent 1820’s building. Behind the facade, the building has been transformed into a bright, well-equipped and modern English language school.

* Between 2nd July 2012 and 10th August 2012, our adult school will also be using additional classroom space at St Thomas of Aquinas School on Chalmers Street.
