As an important extension of coursework, a variety of social and cultural activities are available to students throughout the week, helping them to get to know Edinburgh and Scotland. To make the most of their time in Scotland, students can also choose from several overnight and day trips on the weekends to famous castles and locations such as Loch Ness. During the summer season the city comes alive with the Edinburgh Festival and festival events are organised for students during each week, including the renowned Edinburgh Tattoo.
