Homestay Accommodation
Our Homestay accommodation is very popular. Our families are mainly based in the attractive suburbs of Edinburgh, usually an average journey of 20 or 30 minutes away from the school by bus. Both standard and en-suite homestays are available, with en-suite Homestays offering private bathrooms.
Homestay accommodation is offered on a half board basis. Some hosts are able to accommodate more than one student but no two students of the same mother tongue are placed together unless specifi cally requested.
Residential Accommodation (available mid-June, July and August)
During the summer, the Edinburgh School of English offers single room accommodation at Pollock Halls, the University of Edinburgh’s main residence. Pollock Halls is close to the city center, approximately a 25 minute walk to the school or a short bus ride. All the rooms are single study bedrooms, with shared facilities (toilets, showers and tea and coffee making facilities), and are serviced daily. Linen and towels are provided. All rooms are non-smoking and have their own telephone.
As with all our accommodation, breakfast and evening meals are included in the price. Meals are taken in the nearby dining block, where a large selection of food is offered. There is also a bar, terrace, common room and landscaped gardens.
Apartment Accommodation (available July and August)
Rooms are also available in shared apartments at the University of Edinburgh’s New Arthur Place. New Arthur Place is an apartment complex superbly situated in a central location less than 10 minutes walk from the school and city centre.
New Arthur Place apartments each contain single bedrooms (between 2 and 5 per apartment) with shared bathroom and kitchen facilities. The apartments are non-smoking, and are cleaned daily. Breakfast and an evening meal are provided and are taken at the nearby student cafeteria.
