Homestay Accommodation (available all year round)

Our homestay accommodation is very popular. Our families are mainly based in the attractive suburbs of Edinburgh, usually an average journey of 30 minutes away from the school by bus. Both standard and en-suite homestays are available, with en-suite homestays offering private bathrooms.

Homestay accommodation is offered on a half-board basis. Some hosts are able to accommodate more than one student but no two students of the same mother tongue are placed together unless specifically requested.

Residential Accommodation (available from 27 June to 28 August 2010)

During the summer season, the Edinburgh School of English offers single room accommodation at Pollock Halls, the University of Edinburgh’s main residence. Pollock Halls is close to the city centre approximately a 25-minute walk to the school or a short bus ride. All the rooms are single study bedrooms, with shared facilities (toilets, showers and tea and coffee making facilities), and are serviced daily. Linen and towels are provided. All rooms are non-smoking and have their own telephone.

As with our homestay accommodation, breakfast and evening meals are included in the price. Meals are taken in the newly refurbished servery, where a large selection of food is offered. There is also a welcome centre, bar, terrace, and landscaped gardens.

Apartment Accommodation (available from 4 July and 28 August 2010)

New Arthur Place apartments are superbly located in the heart of the city centre and are just a 15-minute walk from our main school on the celebrated Royal Mile.

New Arthur Place are self-catered apartments designed for 4 people and feature single bedrooms, a large open plan kitchen/dining/lounge area and a shower room and separate toilet.  The apartments are cleaned daily and linen and towels are provided. All rooms are non-smoking and have their own telephone. Each apartment has Internet access as an extra charge.
