Arriving in Scotland

Edinburgh airport is conveniently located a short distance from the city centre.

There is a bus connection from the airport into the city centre, with a journey time of approximately 25 minutes. The Airlink 100 Express bus service operates a 24 hour shuttle between Edinburgh Airport and Waverley Bridge (near Princes Street and the main railway station), with designated stops en route.

Official airport taxis, black cabs and pre-booked private hire taxis are also available at separate taxi ranks.

There is an excellent train service to and from Edinburgh Waverley station, which is located in the centre of the city, to towns and cities throughout the U.K.

Around Edinburgh

When staying in Edinburgh, most students choose to travel around the city by bus. Edinburgh's bus service is one of the best in the United Kingdom, offering a frequent and far reaching service to all parts of the city. A “Ridacard” – or city bus pass – will allow you unlimited travel on all the city’s Lothian buses.

Public transport in Edinburgh is comfortable, safe and easy to use. Drivers are helpful and friendly and the view from the top deck of the buses can be second to none.
